Scabies Mite

DESCRIPTION

The scabies mite is a very tiny mite, much smaller than a pinhead.  The mite burrows under the skin and cause intense itching.

Scabies mites can move from one person to another and are spread via personal contact or through contact with bed linen, clothes, chairs and lounges, etc.

LIFE CYCLE

Scabies mites mate on the skin surface.  The female then burrows under the skin, where the eggs are laid and the female then dies.  The new generation hatch, move to the skin surface where the cycle starts again.
